THE NOLIE PROJECT

The Nolie Project examines the use of Mixed Reality in the next generation television production. As animated celebrities dominate the airwaves and movie theaters, there is an increased desire for their appearance on live interview shows, game shows and award shows. The Media Convergence Laboratory applied the novel use of 3D environmental Mixed Reality characters to engage in spontaneous and active stage direction. As the techniques are refined, this could contribute to increased efficiency in the production of Television, interactive games and feature films.
